Diogo Jota is still out of the picture for Liverpool’s trip to West Ham this weekend, but at least another striker is back, which gives Jurgen Klopp hope.
The season is fading away for the Reds, who were shockingly defeated 2-0 at Goodison Park on Wednesday night in the Merseyside derby.
This coming Saturday lunchtime, Klopp’s team travels to West Ham in what could prove to be another contentious matchup.
Jota’s continued absence from the London Stadium match due to a muscle strain sustained at Fulham is not good news for Liverpool.
The Portuguese won’t return until the following month, possibly in time for Sunday’s home match against Tottenham.
However, Cody Gakpo has returned after the birth of his child.
The following players will play against West Ham and are expected to miss out:
For private reasons, Cody Gakpo is accessible.
Diogo Jota, out of style
Conor Bradley is not in (ankle).
Thiago is not in (hamstring).
Out is Ben Doak (MCL).
Joel Matip has left ACL.
Apart from Jota, Conor Bradley is still sidelined for Liverpool due to an ankle injury, but he should be back soon.
Regarding Joel Matip, Thiago, and Ben Doak, nothing has changed.
After Everton’s abject performance, Klopp must choose which players to start and who to bench.
Goalies: Adrian, Kelleher, and Alisson
Van Dijk, Gomez, Konate, Quansah, Alexander-Arnold, Robertson, and Tsimikas are the defenders.
Midfielders: Elliott, Gravenberch, Bajcetic McConnell, Clark, Mac Allister, Jones, Endo, Szoboszlai, and Elliott
Salah, Nunez, Diaz, Gakpo, and Danns are the forwards.
