After West Ham defeated Luton 3-1, the supporters of the club will like what Nayef Aguerd accomplished behind the scenes at London Stadium.

Nayef Aguerd was acquired by West Ham for an initial £25 million deal in the summer of 2022 from Ligue 1 team Rennes.Despite having a good start to life at the London Stadium, the 28-year-old has been extremely bad for the Hammers over the last year or so, and it looks like he wants to depart the team this summer. Given the disparity in style between David Moyes and Julen Lopetegui, it will be intriguing to see if he still has a future at the club after his arrival.

One thing is for certain, we will play with a higher backline and possess more balls than we did under Moyes. But I will say this: over the past six months, Aguerd has come under fire from Hammers supporters, and not just for his subpar on-field performances. Despite missing numerous games due to injuries, he has almost always magically recovered in time to represent Morocco in international competitions.

Aguerd does not possess the traditional West Ham zeal and is feeble in tackles. I would not object if this player were to be moved on at the end of the season. But I must say that something I recently saw him do on video has raised my opinion of him significantly.

Even though he was injured and not available for selection, the former Rennes player attended our 3-1 victory over Luton at the London Stadium. David Moyes had a wonderful farewell to the West Ham team with the victory, and George Earthy’s debut goal was the icing on the cake.

Who knows, maybe this may be our last encounter with Aguerd at the London Stadium. After watching the movie below, the Moroccan may decide to take a summer vacation, and if he does, I will give my permission to depart. After the 19-year-old scored his first senior goal for the Hammers, Aguerd ran into Earthy in the tunnel.

It was truly wonderful to witness Aguerd’s affection and compassion towards Earthy. It demonstrates that he is, in fact, a wonderful person, and we should never undervalue that.

My opinion of Nayef Aguerd has drastically altered in the last 24 hours, and I believe he will most likely depart West Ham this summer. Things like that are funny, aren’t they?
