When West Ham takes on relegated Burnley at Stratford later this afternoon, former Hammers manager Harry Redknapp predicts the team will be aiming for a third straight Premier League victory.
Redknapp, who managed West Ham from 1994 to 2001, found West Ham a comfortable favorite to beat Vincent Kompany’s Clorets, who had managed just four wins all season.
“A couple of wins in a row have put West Ham back up the table and back in with a chance for a top-six finish,” Redknapp told sports betting site BetVictor. “What about that Tomas Soucek goal last week as well? What a finish that was!
“I’m disappointed in Burnley; they just don’t seem to have much about them. They don’t score a lot, concede a lot, and are just very easy to play against. I know the jump up from the championship is never easy, but this side cruised to the title last season.
“Even though they play in Germany on Thursday, I can only see a West Ham win.”
And Redknapp believes Jarrod Bowen, whom he tips for a place in England’s Euros squad this summer, is the player to keep an eye on in this afternoon’s meeting.
“I’m a big fan of Jarrod Bowen,” he added. “If he can keep this form up between now and the end of the season, Gareth Southgate could well select him for the Euros; I know I would!”
