James’ injured left ankle prevented him from playing in the Lakers’ thrilling double-overtime comeback triumph over the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday.

Rui Hachimura gave the Lakers a huge boost, making seven of eight three-pointers en route to 32 points and 10 rebounds, as he helped them win their fifth straight as they attempt to get out of the play-in tournament and into the playoffs. Anthony Davis, who played nearly 52 minutes on Tuesday, was sidelined with a hyperextended left knee.

With the Grizzlies side suffering from a season marred by injuries, the Lakers lead by eight points at the half and never looked back.

James completed his fourth triple-double of the year with an additional 14 rebounds and 12 assists.

The 39-year-old great claimed he didn’t alter his style of play as a result of Davis’s absence, but he would need to be “strategic” in how he dealt with the ankle issue that has plagued him for much of the season.

Regarding his strategy, he stated, “Read and react to the game, see how the defence is playing, and seeing the rhythm of my guys.”

“It’s good to be back out there with them and be able to do a lot of things tonight to help us win.”

Despite Draymond Green’s ejection just three minutes and thirty-six seconds into the game, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Magic 101-93 in Orlando thanks to 23 points from Andrew Wiggins and two baskets from Stephen Curry in the closing seconds.

After vehemently disputing a foul call, Curry was given two quick technical fouls and was left shaking his head.

Green, who missed 16 games after receiving a suspension in December for slamming an arm into Suns centre Jusuf Nurkic’s head, was ejected for the fourth time this season.

Curry shook his head and covered his face with his jersey, demonstrating his obvious frustration with the occurrence.
