BREAKING: Duke Basketball Legend to be Inducted into Hall of Fame in 2024…

Though it seems that JJ Redick ought to be inducted into the Blue Devil Hall of Fame already, the legendary Duke basketball player will really be officially welcomed into the school’s elite club this autumn.

One day after Redick fulfilled his duties to ESPN for the NBA Finals broadcast, the athletic department revealed the nine-person class on Tuesday morning. At this point, everyone is waiting to learn if Redick will be named the next head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers.

The other honorees are women’s basketball player Monique Currie, men’s lacrosse coach John Danowski, men’s lacrosse player Matt Danowski, women’s golfer Anna Grzebien Vanderlinde, women’s diving coach Abby Johnston McGrath, men’s and baseball player Quinton McCracken, men’s and football player Chris Port, and women’s fencing coach Becca Ward.

Redick did nearly everything during his four years at Duke, leaving the program with 2,769 career points, still a program record, and a two-time National Player of the Year (2005 and 2006).

With Redick in the lineup, the Blue Devils would win three ACC Tournament Championships but would lose in the NCAA Tournament, making it to the Final Four in 2004 but losing in the National Semifinal.

Since 2007, his No. 4 jersey has been retired and has been hanging in the Cameron Indoor Stadium rafters.

In the future, he would be selected in the first round of the NBA Draft, play in the league for 15 years, and have one of the most remarkable basketball media careers.

Being the next head coach of the Lakers would be JJ Redick’s first coaching position, and he is a strong contender for the position. Although there have been no formal reports regarding his future as of Tuesday morning, many people think he will be coaching Anthony Davis and LeBron James the next season.
The Friday, October 25, Duke Hall of Fame induction would coincide with the start of the 2024–25 NBA season. Later in the summer, the regular season dates will be revealed.
