This weekend marks the return of the Premier League, and Crystal Palace might benefit greatly from a comeback in terms of injuries.
Oliver Glasner will be looking to inflict further suffering on Nottingham Forest, who were docked four points last week, with his Eagles team.
But for Crystal Palace, their last game was a 1-1 draw at Luton three weeks ago, so it feels like forever since they played.
In addition to giving Glasner more time on the practice pitch with his squad, this has helped the group heal from a period of injuries.
Sam Johnstone, on the other hand, has been added to the injury list after suffering an injury while playing for England. Palace may soon have Johnstone back, which will be crucial for the team’s attempt to finish the season in the middle of the table.
Michael Olise plans to return to Palace this weekend.
Glasner will be hopeful that Michael Olise’s return will complement his efforts in what promises to be a big contest this coming Saturday.
The 22-year-old is ‘trying to be ready’ for the match against Forest on Saturday afternoon, according to London World.
The Palace attack would benefit greatly from Glasner’s return since he would reunite with Eberechi Eze, who has been quite effective this season when healthy.
Due to a hamstring injury, Olise hasn’t played since Brighton’s 4-1 victory in February, which also happened to be the game that led to Roy Hodgson’s dismissal.
Olise will desire an explosive finale to the season.
Olise, who has ten games left, will be looking to win on Saturday to move Palace 11 points clear of relegation, but he also wants to increase his goal and assist totals for selfish reasons.
Olise hasn’t played enough, even if he was fantastic in 2023–2024. This could work against him this summer as teams may be hesitant to pay £70m on him because of injury fears.
In addition, he wants to make it clear to Didier Deschamps that he must include him in the selection of his summertime Euros team.
Olise will therefore need to play as he has played the entire season and avoid getting hurt again in the next eight weeks or so.
