Lucas Paqueta of West Ham is accused of receiving a booking for gambling reasons.

A Brazilian midfielder who has been accused of four spot-fixing infractions promises to “fight with every breath” to clean his record.

Lucas Paqueta, a midfielder for West Ham, has promised to “fight with every breath” to erase his record following his four spot-fixing charges. According to the Football Association, the Brazil international tried to get booked for betting purposes during Premier League games played in November 2022 against Leicester, March 2023 against Aston Villa, May 2023 against Leeds, and August 2023 against Bournemouth.

Paqueta will vehemently disagree with the punitive measure, though. He posted on social media, saying, “I am really surprised and upset that The FA has decided to charge me.”

I have helped with every stage of their investigation for the past nine months and have given them all the information I am able to. “I completely refute the accusations, and I’ll do all in my power to clear my name. As the procedure is still in progress, I will not be making any more comments.

West Ham has promised to support its player. A club representative stated, “Lucas categorically denies the breach and will continue to vigorously defend his position.” “The club will remain by the player’s side and offer support during this process. We won’t comment further until the matter is resolved.”

In addition, according to an FA statement, Paqueta faces charges of “two breaches of FA Rule F3 in respect of alleged failures to comply pursuant to FA Rule F2″, which relates to providing information and documents.” The FA claimed that Paqueta intentionally sought to influence the referee’s card in order to affect the betting market and benefit from it, directly influencing the flow of play or any other aspect of the matches.

Subject to any requests for an extension of this period, Paqueta has until June 3rd to respond to the charges. Paqueta may request an extension of this date, but only until June 3rd, in order to respond to the charges.
