British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak unveiled a £35 million ($44.35 million) programme on Friday, with the main goal being the building of 16 all-weather domes in towns that would host T20 World Cup matches in 2026 and 2030.

England and Wales will host the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup, while England, Scotland, and Ireland will host the 2030 Men’s T20 World Cup. Rishi Sunak highlighted that the domes will enable grassroots cricket players to participate in the sport all year.

I adore cricket, and that much is obvious. I am happy that we can help even more young people start playing the game now because of this. “Our £35 million investment in grassroots cricket will help over 900,000 young people play cricket,” Rishi Sunak said on X in an announcement about the package.
