According to a recent rumour, West Ham is already pushing to sign Nayef Aguerd’s replacement after he impressed against them.

A new report claims that West Ham United are currently in negotiations to sign a Belgian player who made an impression on them.

Whether they like it or not, West Ham will have to deal with a very busy summer transfer market.

Tim Steidten, technical director of the Hammers, and the team’s owners are facing a significant overhaul.

Considering that West Ham is expected to transfer Lucas Paqueta to Manchester City and has six players whose contracts are expiring,.

That is even before we get to the fact that, as it stands, the team already needs four great additions.

Hammers News was exclusively informed by a key West Ham source that Steidten will have window money.

Steidten needs to present the defence.
Furthermore, Germany seems to be making progress in addressing one of the main areas of concern, which is core defence.

Angelo Ogbonna is probably in his final months as a Hammer, and Nayef Aguerd is nearly guaranteed to be sold this summer.

Permanently joining Monaco is Thilo Kehrer, and Kurt Zouma’s long-standing knee problems prevent him from playing two games in close succession.

While Konstantinos Mavropanos has generally shown promise, he is not above making the occasional expensive error, as he demonstrated on Sunday against Fulham.

According to a recent rumour, West Ham is currently in negotiations to try to sign a Belgian who made an impression on them.

O Jogo claims that West Ham is pressuring Anderlecht to transfer Belgium international Zeno Debast with a proposed £13 million move.

Debast is what West Ham wants to replace Aguerd with.
Debast may be familiar to West Ham supporters given the team’s triumphs over his side in the Europa League the previous season.

Debast participated in two close games against the Hammers, which were won 2-1 and 1-0 by David Moyes’ team.

However, the 20-year-old, who is 6 feet 2 inches, was quite remarkable and has since established himself as a mainstay on the Belgium team.

Debast can dribble out of the back with ease and is a fantastic player with the ball. Another one of his main advantages is his passing range.

Like many good defenders, he is skilled at playing the ball on the floor and does not rush into challenges.

He would be the perfect Aguerd replacement, since the player has been nothing but a disappointment since moving from Rennes for £30 million. Furthermore, the article states that Debast would only cost West Ham half that amount.

Belgian made an impression on the Hammers
This is due to the fact that the defender will be starting his final season with Anderlecht in the summer.

According to O Jogo, “Debast, it should be remembered, will reach the final year of his contract in the summer and, as we understand, he intends to take the leap to another level.”

Furthermore, because he was willing to mediate the transfer of a player who he knew had other suitors, the current leader of the Belgian championship did not even offer him a bid to extend.

“Sporting is not the only team interested in him; Milan, Eintracht Frankfurt, West Ham, PSV, and Ajax are among them.”

Some have dubbed Debast the “new Vincent Kompany.”

It would be a complete bargain if West Ham could acquire him for the amount being discussed, and he proves to be even half the player Kompany was.
