Darren Bent believes one Spurs player is now considerably superior than his Manchester United counterpart.

When asked to choose between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United players, Darren Bent says he would rather have Son Heung-min than Marcus Rashford.

At the end of last season, some could have made a compelling case for picking Rashford over Son because the Manchester United player was coming off his finest season while the South Korean had his worst in a Tottenham shirt.

Some may have believed at the time that the 31-year-old was on the decline, but the forward has blasted that notion out of the water this season.

Tottenham urgently needed Son to step up following Harry Kane’s move to Bayern Munich last summer, and he has certainly done so, with 14 goals and eight assists this season.

Those are incredible stats, especially given that he is not usually an out-and-out attacker and has missed a few matches due to his involvement in the Asian Cup.

Furthermore, the former Bayer Leverkusen player has led the youthful Spurs side admirably since being named captain by Ange Postecoglou, and Bent did not hesitate to select him over Rashford.

Bent asked Andy Goldstein on talkSPORT, “Who would you rather have? I have a quick inquiry that I need you to address right now. “Son, or Rashford?”

When Goldstein selected the Manchester United player, the former Tottenham Hotspur striker replied, “Honestly, look at everyone here looking at you. “I am taking Son all day!”

Rashford outperforms Son in no single metric. The Tottenham player is a better dribbler and finisher, has a better touch, is more intelligent with his back to the goal, a better passer, and, maybe most significantly, has a much superior mentality.
