At the end of the previous season, Tottenham Hotspur was in a rather bad situation. They had finished ninth in the Premier League standings and were without a manager or director of football.

But Spurs recovered fast, and Daniel Levy’s choice to name Ange Postecoglou manager turned out to be a true masterstroke.

Tottenham appeared to be the early favourites to win the title after they got off to a fast start in the new campaign.

Then there was the unforgettable encounter with Chelsea, in which Spurs were reduced to nine players, but they refused to give up and almost managed a draw.

Tottenham is still very much in the running to place in the top four of the Premier League and advance to the Champions League as the final stretch approaches.

In addition, Postecoglou has managed two very successful transfer windows that have brought in a number of elite players with promising futures.

 

What has Gary Neville stated about Ange Postecoglou, the Spurs manager?

Speaking on the most recent episode of The Overlap, Gary Neville was full of praise for the Tottenham manager.

“Postecoglou was Spurs’ third choice, as we knew from Celtic,” he remarked. “And suddenly, he blows us all away with his football skills, hitting it out of the park.”

Tottenham has seen more false dawns in the past, but they now have a manager who is leading the team and doing well on the pitch.

There has not been a sense that Spurs have a manager who is committed to the long term and will work to create something exceptional at N17 since Mauricio Pochettino.
